On 10-11 September 2025, the EIT RawMaterials Partner Day was held at Skyline Brussels, bringing together Europe’s raw materials innovation ecosystem—industry, academia, policy, startups, and R&I projects—to exchange ideas, explore new partnerships, and map out future strategic directions.
For the CICERO Horizon Europe Project, the event was highly relevant. CICERO’s mission—developing circular hydrometallurgy for sustainable production of nickel, cobalt, and manganese—aligns with the event’s focus on strengthening Europe’s resilience and meeting the targets of the EU Critical Raw Materials Act.
EIT RawMaterials Partner Day 2025 has provided a fertile environment for CICERO’s mission. By bringing together innovation, industry, policy, and network growth, the event reinforced the relevance of CICERO’s work in building a more resilient, sustainable, and strategically autonomous European battery materials and refining value chain.
For CICERO, the themes and connections made at Partner Day offer pathways to accelerate deployment, engage key stakeholders, and align with Europe’s raw materials strategy. As CICERO continues its Horizon Europe timeline (2023-2027), events like these help transform ambitious R&D into real industrial change.
